Monday 12th April Up with the LARC

John and Anne had booked us all on a trip on the LARC - an ex US Army amphibious vehicle. We weren't too sure about this but it was great fun. There were only six other people on the tour which took us 30 km along the beach, crossing various creeks and rivers on the way. The weather was glorious where we were but we could see storms over Rosenas washing which she had left out to dry.

The crew were a father and son team, very informative and keen to make sure that everybody enjoyed the day. We stopped to search for fancy shells, visited a very remote lighthouse and had a picnic with tea made in a billy can on a driftwood fire. The wildlife was amazing form sea eagles to soldier crabs via dolphins and endless flocks of migrating butterflies.

On the way home we saw some beach kangaroos. What a brilliant day not spoiled by a tropical down pour after supper!
